TUC

Religious Education and Membership

From the Director of Religious Education...Justine Urbikas

Has it really been a month?  This is now my second column for the newsletter and I can't believe how quickly time is flying.  Spirit Play is well on its way and is going really well, I'm very happy with this curriculum and how we have managed to adapt it to our church and our children.  Talk to Jeff or I if you have any questions about what is going on in the Spirit Play room.

The older children have been doing some art and identity work, we played a lot of get-to-know-you games and made identity collages.  Coming for the rest of the year we will be using parts of a Tapestry of Faith curriculum entitled Amazing Grace which focuses on issues of right and wrong, in a spiritual and practical application.

We are getting ready for some upcoming events.  Sunday October 4th after church everyone is invited to Thatcher Woods for a Bring Your Own Picnic and we'll provide the games.  This will be a fun multigenerational time after the service and while the weather is still nice enough to spend an afternoon outdoors.

Sunday October 25th the RE will be hosting Coffee Hour... with lots of tricks up our sleeves!  Make sure you stick around on this Halloween Sunday, keep your eyes on the This Week at TUC e-mails for more information.

Brian and I have started to talk about having a church service in the middle of the week which will be open to everyone, but will be geared towards families worshipping together.  These shorter services will have a multigenerational appeal, but we need to know if you're interested!  Please give Brian and I your feedback!
